Configure git details

git config --global user.name "Nicolas Cage"

git config --global user.email "shout@nicolascoppola.com"

if you remove --global and go into the relevant folder then you can assign different user to different git repros.

Set up git in folder & push

make sure you’re in the folder you want. Oh-my-Zsh really helps with seeing git commands.

git init

git add *

git commit -m "add your message here"

git remote add origin https://github.com/nicolascage/my-repo.git

git push origin master
